Terms and Conditions
Last Updated: September 2026
Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms", "Agreement") carefully before subscribing to or using the residential waste transfer services provided by Door2Bin ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"). By subscribing to our service, you ("Service User", "Resident", "Customer") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1. The Service & Scope
1.1 Service Overview: Door2Bin provides scheduled, door-to-door residential waste and recycling collection directly from the Service User's apartment entrance for transfer to the building’s designated main refuse area.
1.2 Collection Limits: Subscription fees cover a maximum allowance of one (1) general waste bag and one (1) dry mixed recycling bag per apartment per scheduled collection, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
1.3 Bagged Waste Requirement: All waste and recyclable items must be fully secured inside tied, leakproof bags. Door2Bin operatives will only collect waste that is completely contained within sealed bags. Loose items, oversized boxes, or unbagged material will not be collected.
1.4 Strict Prohibition on Hallway Storage: Waste must remain inside the resident’s apartment unit until the active handover occurs. Waste bags must never be placed, left, or stored in communal hallways, corridors, or stairwells at any time. Unattended waste poses a serious fire hazard and violates building safety regulations.
2. Waste Classification, Sorting & Liability
2.1 Compliance with Building Regulations: Service Users must comply with all local authority waste disposal regulations and any specific waste management policies set out by their building management or landlord.
2.2 Prohibited Items: Door2Bin collects general household waste and dry mixed recycling only. The following items are strictly prohibited from collection bags:
Household or industrial batteries (including lithium-ion batteries)
Electrical items and electronic equipment (WEEE)
Sharps, needles, or medical waste
Biological, hazardous, or chemical waste
Flammable, explosive, or toxic materials
Heavy construction materials, liquid waste, or hot ashes
2.3 Resident Content Responsibility: All waste and materials contained within bags handed over to Door2Bin remain the sole legal and operational responsibility of the resident/Service User. Door2Bin operatives do not inspect or sort the internal contents of sealed bags.
2.4 Indemnity & Fines: Door2Bin accepts no liability for improper disposal, contamination, or illegal materials contained within resident bags. The Service User agrees to indemnify Door2Bin against any council, landlord, or building management fines, penalties, or damages arising from prohibited contents or incorrect waste segregation.
3. Subscriptions, Billing & Price Adjustments
3.1 Rolling Monthly Agreement: Services are supplied on a rolling one-calendar-month contract basis, automatically renewing each month until terminated in accordance with Section 4.
3.2 Advance Payment Structure: Subscription payments are collected in advance and cover the upcoming month of service (e.g., a payment taken on January 1st covers service for the month of January).
3.3 Price Adjustments: Door2Bin reserves the right to increase monthly subscription fees if required by economic factors, operational costs, or regulatory changes. Service Users will be provided at least thirty (30) days' written notice prior to any price or payment schedule changes taking effect.
4. Cancellation & Termination Policy
4.1 Customer Termination (One Month's Notice): Service Users may cancel their subscription at any time by providing one full month’s written notice.
4.2 Notice Period Billing & Service: Any recurring subscription payments due to be processed within the one-month notice period will still be charged. However, the Service User remains fully entitled to utilize the service for the full billing period paid for by that final payment.
4.3 Termination by Door2Bin: Door2Bin reserves the right to suspend or cancel any service agreement immediately and without prior notice for any reason, including but not limited to:
A breach or contravention of these Terms and Conditions
Non-payment or failed subscription transactions
Threatening, abusive, or unreasonable behavior toward Door2Bin operatives
Persistent failure to adhere to waste containment guidelines
5. Collection Schedule, Service Alterations & Interruptions
5.1 Scheduled Times: Door2Bin will endeavor to perform collections on the designated days and time windows communicated to the Service User at subscription commencement.
5.2 Operational Changes: Door2Bin retains the right to reschedule, suspend, or modify collection routines whenever operational requirements, staff safety, extreme weather, or building access issues dictate.
5.3 Public & National Holidays: Collections falling on national, statutory, or bank holidays may be modified or canceled. Door2Bin will provide adequate advance notice of altered holiday schedules whenever possible. No partial refunds are issued for scheduled holiday service adjustments.
6. Account Transferability
6.1 Relocation: If a Service User moves to a new apartment unit within the same building, or to another residential building where Door2Bin actively operates, subscription transfer may be available.
6.2 Discretionary Approval: Transferring an active account to a new location is subject to operational feasibility and remains at the sole discretion of Door2Bin management. Service Users must provide advance written request to initiate a transfer.
7. Limitation of Liability & Force Majeure
7.1 Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Door2Bin’s total financial liability to any Service User for any claim arising out of or in connection with the service shall not exceed the value of one month’s subscription fee paid by that user.
7.2 Force Majeure: Door2Bin shall not be held liable or deemed in breach of contract for any delays, failures, or disruptions in service resulting from events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, extreme weather conditions, building lockdowns, fire, strike actions, civil unrest, or restricted site access imposed by landlords or emergency services.
8. Amendments to Terms
Door2Bin reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be published on our platform or communicated via email. Continued use of the service following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
9. Property Access & Third-Party Site Rules
9.1 Service delivery is dependent upon building management granting Door2Bin operatives access to communal corridors and refuse areas. Door2Bin accepts no liability for missed collections caused by restricted building access, broken key fobs, or changed access codes not communicated in advance.
9.2 Building lease agreements and building management fire safety rules shall at all times take precedence over these Terms.
10. Cancellation Rights & Statutory Cooling-Off Period
Under distance selling regulations, you have the right to cancel your subscription within 14 days of signing up. However, by accepting these terms and requesting service commencement within this 14-day window, you acknowledge that you lose the right to a full refund once services have actively commenced.
11. Limitation of Company Liability
11.1 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits Door2Bin Ltd’s liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any matter where it would be unlawful to exclude liability.
11.2 Subject to Clause 11.1, Door2Bin Ltd’s total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the performance of this agreement shall be strictly limited to the total subscription fees paid by the Service User in the three (3) months prior to the event giving rise to the claim. Door2Bin Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, special, or consequential losses.
12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
